Hi,
This is just a heads up on a project that was started around GPN19 end
of May.
ShutdownForClimate has the plan to organise a large-scale shutdown of
websites and internet services for the beginning of climate strike week
on September 20 this year.
Think of it like the black out for Article 13, for example, that was
done earlier this year.
If you have a website and want to shut it down on September 20, you
might want to start thinking about participating, and look into the
technical possibilities.
If you want to contribute more to the project itself and not just use
it, here you go:
They'll have their next audio conference today 8pm. The details are on
https://pad.developersforfuture.org/5OkePvirQ5OfkC3dS475Ug#next-appointment
Sorry for the short notice. If you are interested but can't make it
today, here is some more connection points:
The current work-in-progress status of the project is visible on
http://shutdownforclimate.net/
Communication is going on via the channel
https://mattermost.developersforfuture.org/developers/channels/shutdownforclimate
on the Developers For Future Mattermost instance. If you want an
account, you need to go through the “Join Us” link on the front page
https://developersforfuture.org/home
I myself am not contributing much to that project because I am busy
enough with camp.
Best regards,
Blipp
